Sunday 26 April to Friday 1 May 2020
I’m really excited to return to Kasbah Angour, an eco-friendly and traditionally styled boutique hotel, located high on a hilltop in Morocco’s stunning Atlas Mountains to run my next retreat.
I’ve led several Yoga holidays here, and the focus in 2020 is on wellness and rejuvenation and if you’re seeking an uplifting holiday in the warmth of the Spring sunshine (average temperature, mid-twenties) that blends activity and meditative movement (Yoga and Walking) with wellness and relaxation (Hammam Spa and Yoga Nidra) then this holiday could well be for you!
Wake up in the mornings to incredible panoramic mountain views and after a refreshing Mint Tea (or Coffee!) flow through a session of energising and relaxing Yoga on the retreat’s Roof Terrace, overlooking the majestic mountains and abundant gardens.
After a nourishing breakfast our local guides will take us on a mountain walk*, passing olive groves, stark mountainous landscape where we’ll discover valleys, groves, meadows and meet locals working in their Berber villages – all this from the Kasbah’s doorstep. (*A reasonable level of fitness is required as the walks are approximately 2-3 hours duration, though routes/lengths will be modified, depending on the preferences of the group).
Mid-week we’ll integrate the spaciousness created in our minds from walking in the mountains, and from the Meditative Yoga, and enjoy a Hammam Spa experience at the retreat.
There’s plenty of time to relax after lunch and the calm and peaceful mountain-side retreat with its abundance of flowers, trees and the steady mountains surrounding it, lends itself to a relaxed and joyful state of being. The sun loungers beside the pool are a fabulous spot to settle with a good book, take a swim or afternoon nap in the warmth of the sunshine.
Accommodation and dining
This boutique hotel offers “comfort with a conscience” and the twin-share en-suite rooms overlook the valley and are styled in traditional Berber design. Open the shutters to view the lush valley, where uplifting bougainvillea and other native flowers abound, and distant majestic mountains surround Berber villages.Full vegetarian board is included, for example, Berber styled eggs, bread and coffee in the mornings, as well as yoghurts and fruit, and a delicious vegetarian mezze at lunchtime and dinner.
Investment: £899 per person for twin/double room (shared) and £1149 for solo occupancy.
Some available slots remaining, please RSVP your interest soonest so that I can confirm numbers at the retreat centre. To register and secure your place on this holiday a non-refundable deposit of £225 (twin share) and £288 (sole occupied) is required on booking, and the balance is due in full on 25 March 2020 (30 DAYS prior to the holiday). The full balance is due immediately if the booking is made within 30 days of the holiday. Please note: All bookings and payments are non-refundable. Please ensure to take a travel insurance policy at the time of booking to cover you.
This holiday will appeal to: Yogis* who love mountains, walking and being in the outdoors, practising Yoga in idyllic locations. The walks are led by an experienced and friendly local guide who is very familiar with the landscape and terrain, are different each day and classified as moderate so they are suitable for most people who are reasonably active. The style of Yoga* that I teach is very accessible for all levels, so beginners through to more experienced are ALL welcome.
