What personal data we collect and why we collect it

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Personal Data Collected at the time of booking/first attendance

Some personal data is collected by Sarah, of Karmiyoga, at the time of booking or attending your first class. This is for the purposes of meeting Insurance Company criteria as well as for your health and safety at yoga. Health information is also used to tailor sessions to suit your individual needs. All information gathered by Sarah at Karmiyoga (either on paper, verbally or via an online booking process) is treated as confidential and will not be shared with a third party. It is only viewed by Sarah Dawson, as your teacher/coach.

You may update or correct any information held with Sarah by letting her know. The Insurance Company request that Sarah keeps a record of customer’s data and registrations for seven years after your last class with me.If you wish to alter any of your data, review how it is used or wish to request its return to you, please contact Sarah Dawson: karmiyoga@gmail.com or 07960 023871. You may, of course, decline to submit personally identifiable information to Sarah of Karmiyoga, in which case Karmiyoga may not be able to provide certain services to you.

How I use your Contact Information

When booking a class, either online, on paper, or via text, you are agreeing to either your email and/or phone number being used by Sarah of Karmiyoga to inform you of class changes, service updates directly relating to the service you have booked.

Karmiyoga Mailing List

Direct marketing emails informing you of new, future or alternative services I am providing are sent through a secure permission-based email system called Mailpoet which is powered by Healthhosts, the provider of my website.

Karmiyoga Mobile Phone List

Sarah may, from time to time, use your phone number to contact you about new course information, discounts and promos available, class timetabling changes or to inform you of Pop Up Outdoor Yoga classes on Hove seafront, only if you have provided your number. If you no longer wish to be contacted this way, please RSVP to the next message with OPT OUT and you will be removed from the telephone Yoga update database.

Karmiyoga is not responsible for the practices employed by websites linked to or from the Karmiyoga website, nor the information or content contained in them. Please remember that when you use a link to go from Karmiyoga to another website, our Privacy Notice is no longer in effect. Karmiyoga will update you via e-letter to let you know of any changes to our privacy notices or how we use your data.
