Q: Are the classes suitable for beginners?
A: My classes are very accessible as I teach a gentle, mindful and flowing style of Yoga, combined with some deeper stretches and some carefully orchestrated challenges! I welcome complete beginners, and always offer modifications in the yoga poses/sequences for specific needs. Please contact me before attending your FIRST ONLINE SESSION to inform me of anything that could affect safe practice. Call/text: 07960 023871 or email: firstname.lastname@example.org with your questions or concerns.
Q: Do I need to tell you about any health issues that could affect my yoga practice?
Q: Should I eat before or after Yoga?
A: It is recommended that you allow at least one hour after eating before practising yoga so that you don’t have a full tummy and feel uncomfortable, and so that the body can efficiently digest your meal. Allow yourself some quiet time after the session before eating.
Q: How do I book some Online Corporate Yoga for my team/colleagues, or a Bespoke Yoga event such as Yoga at a Hen Do?
A: My business has pivoted during these times and I now offer these sessions ONLINE via the Zoom platform. Please contact me via email: email@example.com or call me on: 07960 023871 to discuss your dates and all the details.
Q: Can I get a refund?
A: Please familiarise yourself with the “Terms & Conditions” below:
Terms & Conditions: All bookings made are non-refundable/non transferable except if/when I need to cancel a class/session, at which time I will give as much notice as possible, and offer a refund or class in lieu. When making an online or drop-in class booking please message first to check available spaces before paying online. Please note, there are no refunds or transfers if you’re unable to attend a prepaid session. All session bookings are confirmed upon receipt of payment and paid in advance of the session to reserve and guarantee your slot. Bespoke bookings, such as Hen Yoga events, require a non-refundable deposit to secure the slot/date, as this is often several months in advance. The deposit invoice will be sent after arrangements have been made, and the slot will be confirmed upon receipt of deposit payment, with the remaining balance due one month in advance of the actual event.
Q: How do I get involved in the Outdoor Yoga sessions?
A: As we head towards the warmer season I am intending and planning to start some Outdoor Yoga sessions, taking into account the required safety distance of people. Please drop me a text: 07960 023871 or email: firstname.lastname@example.org if you’d like to know more, and with your dates and details if you’d like to arrange a private group session on the Lawns. I also run Group Outdoor Yoga sessions for regular/local yogis so if you’d like to join in, please provide me with a mobile number so that I can notify you when this is scheduled. Sessions are often last minute and subject to changes due to the weather. I also post any outdoor group sessions on my Facebook page: Karmiyoga Yoga – please ‘like’ my page and keep your notifications switched on to receive notiications.
Q: Where do the Outdoor Yoga sessions take place?
A: At different parts of Hove Lawns. Generally, I hold sessions at the Western end of Hove Lawns on the grass facing the beach huts, and at the bottom of Fourth Avenue Hove. We meet there, and relocate if the area is busy with other group activities.
Q: Where are your classes usually held?
A: At the moment as all studios are closed, all of my sessions are online. I teach Yoga at several different studios/venues in Brighton and Hove including Revitalise, Essence, The Float Spa and on Brighton and Hove seafront during the summer months. Please see my Soul Soothing Yoga page for the venue details, timings, and all other info.
Q: How do I get there by public transport, and is there parking?
A: At Revitalise, Western Road, Hove, you can park on Cambridge Road, Brunswick Road, Norfolk Road, Norfolk Square, Brunswick Place, Waterloo Street or Brunswick Street East for £1.60 (2 hours), or Lansdowne Road £3 (4 hours). Alternatively, Waitrose is 10 minutes walk and is free for 90 mins.
There is a bus stop outside Revitalise (by the large Coop store, ask for Norfolk Square stop), served by the following buses: 1, 1A, 2, 2A, 5, 5A, 5B, 6, 24, 25, 46, 49, 49A, 81. Revitalise is approximately 20 minutes walk from Brighton train station, and 30 minutes walk from Hove train station.
A: Essence and The Float Spa are further along Western Road, into Hove, along Church Road and follow similar transport suggestions as above.
Q: How many people do you generally have in your groups?
A: Session numbers vary. I aim for small to medium groups and an intimate ambience of around 8. The studio spaces that I usually hire have capacity for a maximum of 10. For larger/private group bookings I hire a larger space, eg The Float Spa in Hove, which has capacity for 20 persons.
Q: What do I need to bring with me to the yoga session?
A: Each of the studios is fully equipped (mats, blocks, blankets, and some bolsters or cushions) so just bring a bottle of water to stay hydrated. For the outdoor Yoga sessions you will need your own mat and any other props, along with some water, and sunscreen in the day time summer sessions, and warmer layers for any evening sessions.
Q: Do I need to bring my own mat to the yoga sessions?
A: Each of the studios is fully equipped however you’re most welcome to bring and use your own mat and props. For the outdoor Yoga sessions you will need your own mat/props, along with some water, and sunscreen in the day time summer sessions, and warmer layers for any evening sessions.
Q: What should I wear to a Yoga class?
A: Please wear loose comfy clothing, such as leggings and a tee-shirt/vest, or similar. For the Outdoor Yoga sessions, layering is best, depending on the time of practice and the weather conditions.
