Kefalonia: Soulful Retreat

Saturday 19 September to Saturday 26 September 2020

UPDATE, 2020: this event is postponed, new dates TBC.

I’m excited to return to a fifth time to the beautiful Greek Island of Kefalonia to run my next nourishing, soul-full retreat for a small group of Yogis and Soul-seekers, a retreat which is designed to help you tune into your heart’s deepest desires and dreams in an inspired and enriching location.

Each day there will be a different workshop/activity (to get an idea of these, see the workshops/sessions from the 2019 retreat below – in 2020 they will be varied and slightly different), and the rest of the day is yours to embrace! We’ll be situated at a restful and relaxing beach resort, so you can choose to chill beneath a parasol on one of the beach beds, read, swim in the sea, and if/when you feel more action-oriented, ask me (and our host) for advice about places to visit, boat trips and cultural diversions (we can organise taxi’s or car hire for you). The daily workshop/activity is the group’s ‘connecting-point’, our coming together, along with an evening meal at suggested hand-picked, tried and tested restaurants. The evening meal is entirely optional because I recognise that some days you may wish to stay in your apartment and self-cater or head out and explore the island for the day.

The Workshops & Activities *

  • The power of Prana, and breath awareness: We’ll explore flowing Dru Yoga sequences and traditional Hatha Yoga connecting us to the five winds, the Prana/air that flows in different directions around our body, providing us with increased and focused vitality. (75 mins, morning).
  • Mobile Mindfulness, and Mantra: We’ll take a silent stroll on the beach at Sunset, with Mantra Repetition. At a quiet location we’ll flow through a moving meditation followed by a seated meditation circle. (75 mins, evening).
  • Conscious Life Coaching: I’ll host a group Coaching Circle, with introductory Life Coaching tools and techniques to explore life purpose, practice self-enquiry and consider ways to bring increased balance, wellness and fulfilment to our lives including the Art of Journalling, the daily pages: tips on writing as a tool to know and understand ourselves, and unleash our creative energies. (90 mins).
  • Mood Boards and Music: We’ll create a collage, a picture of the things we’d like to manifest in our lives, in a mindful practice of creating a Vision Board. With inspirational and uplifting, upbeat music on a playlist, we’ll use pictures and visuals to “take us to” the place we’d like to be, as a reference point and anchor to these things happening in the here and now. (90 mins).
  • Rest and restore: We’ll flow through Chandra (Moon) re-balancing Yoga and Pranayama sequences, demonstrating the perfect evening, rest and restore practice. (75 mins).
  • Yoga Nidra on the beach: A blissful guided relaxation session held at sunset in the coolness of the early evening when Prana is rich. (60 mins, evening).
  • * There will be one activity/session each day. Workshops and sessions will be held in circle around the table beneath a large, shady tree, in a quiet cafe, on the beach (Yoga/Mindfulness), or in the garden space overlooking the sea. The serene and uplifting location adds great depth and freedom to our musings and the whispers of our Soul!

    Accommodation and Dining

    We’ll be staying in self catering beach studios on the south of the island, from where you can hear the waves lapping on the shore. Steps lead down to the stunning sandy beach where there are a number of excellent cafes and restaurants serving delicious Greek cuisine, and two supermarkets within walking distance to stock up on fresh food. The studios are self-catering (with fridge, hob cooker, kettle and crockery/utensils) so you have the option to prepare your own breakfast (fruit/yoghurt/honey, or eggs/toast?), lunch (delicious Greek Salad?!), and even dinner. Alternatively, simply enjoy fresh coffee or tea in the morning on your balcony, and take your pick from the cafes and restaurants along the beach. Each studio has WIFI and Air-Conditioning, and overlook the ocean, with balcony or terrace.

    This Retreat will appeal to you if:

  • You’re keen to deepen your Yoga, Meditation and spiritual practice;
  • You need a ‘reset’ and to rest your Mind, Body & Soul;
  • You’re craving the space to reflect on life values/priorities in a relaxed, inspirational setting;
  • You’d like to spend a week with like-minded people and form new friendships/connections;
  • You love the idea of practising Yoga and Meditation on the beach, beside lapping waves;
